MISSION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for our new Demand Planner to manage demand information flows to produce bottoms up forecast. This person will also develop statistical forecasts and integrate numerous elements of business data and market intelligence using the Market Forecast Planner. This is a critical job with significant commercial and business implications because it involves market intelligence and forecasts which are used by various leadership teams.
Produce bottoms up forecast by-sku by-month, for a specific category, for multiple brands or one large brand.
Evaluate historical shipment patterns, use experience and statistical knowledge to maintain optimal models to represent the best future forecast pattern, and the most efficient forecast method to deliver best accuracy per effort invested.
Understand market dynamics and latest marketing and supply plans (promotions, cannibalization, distribution changes, supply constraints etc.) and make value-added modifications to system forecast.
Make forecast modifications in the system in collaboration with the Market Forecast Planner.
Validate the system forecast using methodology and tools such as forecast reasonability tool, consumption modeling, market share projection, etc.
Collaborate with category supply chain contacts. Communicate significant forecast changes, what-if projections in line with operating strategy; review latest supply situation, and manage resulting forecast updates.
Gatekeeper of proposed changes to forecast driving out non-value added modifications.
Maintain quality and consistency of Key Forecast Changes and Risks & Opportunities.
Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
High School Diploma or GED.
2+ years of experience in demand planning or similar supply chain experience.
Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and organizational/time management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across different styles, develop strong partnerships. And work well with people not physically collocated.
Strong communication skills and conflict resolution.
Goal orientated and results driven.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or similar discipline.
Familiar with SAP, JDA, or equivalent MRP systems.
Previous experience in Supply Planning or Project Management.
Beauty industry experience a plus.
