MISSION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibility of the Business Intelligence Assistant Manager is to work in collaboration with the Director of Category Management to identify and optimize sales and share growth opportunities, deliver high level analytics, and manage key programs on all category businesses. In short, help the Category team make better decisions, faster through analytical thought leadership.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Business Intelligence Manager will divide time across all categories approximately as follows: 15% Fragrance, 30% Hair Color, 30% Nail, & 25% Non-Category Specific.

  • High Level Analytics – this role will work with the Director in brainstorming and implementing tools and products to improve efficiency across teams and deliver high-level category analytics across all businesses.

  • APT Category Lead – this role will be lead expert in APT for category team and lead test & learn analysis for each category

  • Nielsen Reporting – Provide weekly/monthly reporting via Nielsen, both POS and Panel

  • Modular Execution – will work with Sr. Category Managers in delivering modular execution analysis tools and reporting, depending on relay schedule

  • Monitor sales and identify business opportunities based on findings from specific business data. Review with Sr. Category Managers & Director to ensure key sales initiatives are achieved and business opportunities identified.

  • Provide effective and actionable insights to Sr. Category Managers in order to identify and realize all potential sales opportunities. Data provided should help develop collaborative business solutions to drive category growth and share gain.

  • Serve as an analytical resource to the Category Management and Sales teams by providing support with syndicated, customer, and advertisement data sources. Analysis should uncover market trends and deliver category insights to develop collaborative business solutions.

  • Assist in developing presentations that highlight category performance and identify key growth opportunities.

  • Work closely with Sr. Category Managers to ensure analysis and communication is consistent with Coty Beauty priorities and preferred format.

  • Monitor and report on all competitive market intelligence, both retailer and brand.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: (Academic, Professional, Relevant Job Knowledge):

  • 4 year degree required

  • 2+ years prior experience in CPG, including sales, category management, marketing, or working with syndicated data supplier

  • Excellent computer skills are required, including extensive experience in IRI, Nielsen, and/or Spectra software would be advantageous

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability.

  • Strong ability to work with big data

  • Solid organizational, time management, and oral/written communication skills.

  • Strong sales/industry knowledge with emphasis on category and space management.

  • Desire to work in a confidential team environment.

  • Solid working knowledge of syndicated data (IRI and/or ACNielsen), Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), account specific databases, and JDA Space Planning software.

  • Ability to work with data from multiple sources, interpret data, and turn into actionable conclusions.

  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis is a plus

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position works in a customer team office.

  • Flexibility to travel as required (up to 20%)
