MISSION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Lead and run the forecasting, econometric modelling and all other analytics for Consumer Beauty across its categories globally

  • Drive the forecasting accuracy of big bets and key initiatives focused on CONSUMER BEAUTY

  • Ensure that business leaders and key stakeholders have real time understanding of drivers for growth of each of the COUNTRY MARKETING UNITS (CMU )

  • Deliver the optimized resource allocation guidelines that not only is measured against ROI but on true effectiveness in terms of driving sales growth

  • Creating a robust and holistic system for analytics reporting/visualization at the global, category and brand levels.

  • Leverage best-in-class analytics capabilities to aid in strategy and innovation efforts.

  • Define the next generation of analytics capabilities for the future of business intelligence in Coty.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum, preferably in math/data analytics, data science engineering or business field.

  • Prior market research or business analyst experience (8+ years) in beauty industry preferred, client side experience preferred

  • Analytical experience including data science techniques, data reporting, and data visualization.

  • Experience in syndicated research including Nielsen, IRI, Kantar, point-of-sale data, etc.

  • Very Strong analytic capabilities : forecasting, modelling , 4P analysis,

  • Able to model / run models independently as well as gather the inputs and generate business orientated recommendations for resource allocation

  • We expect this person to run the ECONOMETRIC MODELLING independently and not just liaise with Nielsen/ IRI . We are hoping to have zero to little outsourcing investment in the out years with external agencies.

Technical Competencies:

  • Experience and passion for DATA MINING and ANALYTICS.

  • Ability to DEVELOP AND EXECUTE VISION AND STRATEGY for robust analytics program

  • Strong understanding of BUSINESS FUNDAMENTALS, including sales/share data, business drivers, financials

  • Ability to turn business questions into ROBUST DATA ANALYSES and to translate data insights into BUSINESS ACTION.

  • Strong INTEGRATIVE THINKING skills, combining multiple quantitative data points into an answer for the business.

  • Strong communication skills to Board Level / Executive Committee re ECONOMETRIC MODELLING recommendations

  • Strategic Leadership and Influence Impact Clear ability to lead, energize, and engage senior management to influence strategies/ action plans, ensuring all decisions are grounded in consumer understanding and brand building fundamentals. Strategic envisioning and organization enrollment skills within and across functions is essential.

  • Communication – Strong track record of driving clear, actionable recommendations into business strategy. Brings consumer and market insights/ knowledge to life in simple and visually compelling manner. Oral and written communication skills must result in strong influence impact across Category/Sales Leads, CMI and broader Beauty. CONCISE STORYTELLING: boil down multiple data points into a simple but powerful story for the business and customer.

  • Priority Setting and Agility – Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on the biggest, appropriate business priorities to impact business strategy. Willingness to be flexible on dynamic and fast-changing beauty business, flowing to the work, while continually operating with a scarcity mindset.

  • CMI Analytics Mastery– Has strong technical mastery of data and analytics fundamentals, tools, and capabilities. Integrates information while balancing data and judgment.

  • Interdependency and Collaboration Builds strong, effective partnerships among CMI research suppliers, multi-functional teams, and external agencies to deliver on the business.
