JOB TITLE: Regional Category Lead, Retail North America

REPORTING TO: Indirect Sourcing Director, North America



The Retail Category Lead will have the responsibility to lead regional sourcing strategy and key initiatives for all Retail, Point Of Sales and Merchandising categories for the North America zone.

He/She will deliver required value and benefits for Coty through the entire process, i.e. from Sourcing until Purchase-to-pay, including SRM and internal stakeholders engagement.

The North America region being a key strategic Zone for the group, the Regional category lead will be working closely key internal stakeholders (Marketing, Retail, Sales, Supply chain, Finance, and Legal) to ensure that our strategic plans are translated into regional opportunities for North America, and thoroughly implemented and communicated.

This will mainly involve leading regional change- management projects and complex sourcing initiatives on behalf of Coty.

In line with our Procurement Transformation goals, the Regional category lead will support the evolution of Coty’s procurement function from tactical to strategic, continuously demonstrating the value of the Global Procurement function to the business.

This category team also consists of 1 buyer / senior buyer, who will be working under the leadership of the Regional Category Lead.


  • Define and implement improved ways of working with suppliers and stakeholders,

  • Work with external partners and internal colleagues to ensure best in class operational support, at the best possible conditions for Coty.

  • Oversee Strategic Supplier Relationship Management of designated suppliers.

  • Ensure Innovation, Quality, Services, and Cost competitiveness.

  • Ensure that Risk Management plans are developed, reviewed and maintained for the area of responsibility in line with Category & Business strategies.

  • Support the business and Global Procurement in reaching their objectives.

  • Manage and support 1 Buyer / Senior Buyer in their projects and development program

  • Deliver against savings objectives.

  • Manage sourcing project and business cases and ensure effective implementation and embedding of the output.

  • Manage Tier 1 and Tier 2 Suppliers’ negotiations & sourcing arrangements.

  • Support Legal teams in contractual discussions and oversee signature, to ensuring that Coty business relationships are protected by appropriate contractual documents.

  • Develop and Maintain close Relationship with all internal stakeholders in your perimeter.


  • Business and/or Procurement graduate caliber ideally with a post-graduate qualification.

  • Minimum 10 years Indirect Procurement experience within multinational FMCG company, in complex and changing environment.

  • People management experience (min 3 years)

  • Advanced in data collection, analysis and creative problem solving.

  • Proficient in Stakeholders engagement, management and communication.

  • Advanced in Negotiation in a monopolistic environment.

  • Advanced in desktop tools (reporting, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Relevant experience & market knowledge of Retail, Point Of Sales and Merchandising categories


  • Senior individual with strong influencing skills, Actor of change who can operate at executive committee level.

  • Capable of adapting way of workings depending on situations/stakeholders while maintaining rigorous procurement behaviors.
