MISSION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Description:

The Senior Manager of US Influencer Marketing is responsible for managing the development and execution of press and influencer strategies for Coty Luxury fragrance and color brands to maximize print and online coverage, garner positive influencer, trade and consumer engagement and support brand business and sales goals.

This position will serve as the key press contact for brand PR and Influencer Marketing activity, manage external agency and licensor partners and act as the internal liaison with local marketing, global influencer marketing, digital and media teams. This role will lead the charge on all non-branded content creation opportunities, and will identify new ways to leverage PR and influencer content cross-functionally and across multiple touchpoints – via paid media, retail partners, education, sales and POS.

The Senior Manager of US Influencer Marketing should be adept at prioritizing and overseeing multiple brands and tasks in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent contacts and industry relationships. The position calls for an enthusiastic, creative thinker who collaborates well with team members and can maximize results though cross-platform and cross-channel campaign planning.

The Senior Manager of US Influencer Marketing should be tapped in culturally and possess experience in creating influencer / PR plans and strategy, producing special events and managing talent. The right candidate should be a strong presenter, have excellent writing and story-development skills, the ability to effectively communicate results and have a genuine passion for building brands. Experience inspiring/managing a team is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

PUBLIC RELATIONS STRATEGY

  • Adapt and execute Global PR plans and platforms to support Coty Luxury PR Strategy in the US for Coty Luxury fragrance and color brands

  • Proactively originate local PR plans and initiatives to meet the unique needs of the US market

  • Ensure that journalists receive timely and usable assets and content to secure significant press behind fragrance and color brands across all media

  • Originate and propose dynamic pitching strategy for all initiatives to be submitted and approved by global/license

  • Talent and licensor relations in partnership with global team/where applicable

  • For US specific activations, strategize Brand Ambassador contracted PR days and a full press plan for events, photo shoots and appearances that will include heavy focus on broadcast and digital

  • Pitch in-depth feature stories in strategic press outlets leveraging brand talent, designers, perfumers, etc.

  • Ensure excellence in end-to-end planning, execution and measurement of efforts

  • Cultivate and manage key industry relationships

  • Liaise with the US Marketing and media teams to ensure that communications are synergistic with local marketing campaigns and leverage advertising buys

  • Liaise with local fashion houses to obtain alignment and approval on local PR strategies, and ensure synergy between fashion/beauty initiatives

INFLUENCER MARKETING STRATEGY

  • Adapt and execute Global IM plans to support Coty Luxury IM Strategy in the US for Coty Luxury fragrance and color brands

  • Proactively originate local IM plans and initiatives to meet the unique needs of the US market

  • Supplement marketing strategies with targeted local influencer support during key consumption periods

  • Partner with ecomm team to drive conversion to key retail partners via IM initiatives whenever possible

  • Ensure inclusion of an Influencer element in all traditional PR tactics/initiatives whenever possible

  • Oversee the partner identification, approval process, contract negotiations and execution of all US IM initiatives

  • Identify and manage external agencies when needed

  • Cultivate and manage key influencer relationships

  • Analyze, report and share internally digital best practices as it relates to IM content

  • Proactively educate and advise Global partners and licenses on market best practices, competitive intel and new developments in the IM space

  • Work with marketing, media and digital partners to ensure media boosting support for best in class IM content

  • Review/advise/approve media plans and tactics related to IM initiatives

  • Liaise directly with retailers when applicable to develop retailer specific IM support strategies and synergies

EVENTS

  • Manage high-profile local PR events to introduce new products, brand ambassadors and campaigns to key media, influencers and consumers

  • Manage US brand ambassador personal appearances and other activities, such as in store events, national broadcast appearances, interview sessions for US media

  • Adapt Global guidelines for local execution, and oversee production and implementation of events

  • Serve as sole Coty representative at high-profile Global events when needed

DEPARTMENTAL/CROSS-PORTFOLIO INITIATIVES

  • Support Marketing team by spearheading “special projects” in order to benefit full Luxury portfolio (I.E. Hispanic consumer strategy, added value strategy, sampling strategy, etc)

  • Spearhead new ways to track and analyze PR/IM results and leverage best practices within organization

  • Lead support strategy and execution of high-profile industry awards and events (Fragrance Foundation Awards, CEW, etc)

  • Liaise with cross-functional partners to drive 360 media programs that incorporate earned media, owned media, influencer, digital and experiential elements

  • Identify opportunities to leverage PR/Influencer content cross-functionally and across a variety of touchpoints (media, retailer.com, education, POS)

  • Identify new platforms and services to reach new audiences, attract consumers and drive awareness and engagement

MANAGEMENT

  • Manage and mentor Assistant Managers and Coordinators, ensuring developmental opportunities, motivational tactics and internal visibility

  • Manage external agencies and other vendors

BRAND BUDGETS

  • Forecast, manage and reconcile brand budgets, planning and prioritizing appropriate activations for earned and amplified media

  • Maximize ROI by aligning with US portfolio strategy to appropriately support key brands and initiatives

Application Pre-Requisites:

  • 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Communications or Related Field

  • 7-10 years of Public Relations and/or Influencer Marketing experience

  • Beauty experience very strongly preferred
