The Luxury Division will be managed out of New York, Paris and Darmstadt. Iconic brands within the luxury
include but are not limited to: Gucci, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Marc Jacobs, Chloé, MiuMiu, Bottega Veneta,
Tiffany, Lacoste and Joop!
Reporting to the Director of Stretch/Open Innovation, responsible for the development of stretch/open/intrapreneurial innovation and fragrance experiences for all of Coty’s Brand portfolio (which includes Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Chloe, Gucci, Hugo Boss, Balenciaga Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Joop, Davidoff, and Miu Miu), you will be leading the product design activities of our Stretch/Accelerated Innovations and our Long Term Research Projects.
In this broad reaching role touching multiple innovation programs at different stages of development, you will be part of the core Stretch Innovation agile team and working in partnership with the total Luxury R&D organisation based in Paris, Versoix (Geneva) and New York. Your mission is to drive the development of the innovation programs within your remit from inception through to market execution.
Lead the design activities of a portfolio of innovation projects, from ideation to prototyping, in collaboration with the Consumer Product Innovation manager, and the Project manager.
Identify and build collaboration bridges with design teams within COTY, and externally through partnership with Europe-based universities.
Support teams in their innovation pitching activities, through impactful storytelling (this would include the creation of videos, moodboards, storyboards, aspirational and magical presentation materials).
Provide the project squads, along with the Open Innovation & Project manager, with clear design, schedule, and test plans.
Training of the Luxury R&D organization on consumer-centered product design methodologies and tools.
Coaching of product design interns when required.
Business travel may occur to support innovation workshops, reviews with external partners or internal stakeholders.
Postgraduate degree in Product Design, Project/Program management or equivalent. Or, BA/BS degree, with 3+ years relevant work experience.
Product design track record in portfolio in physical consumer goods (packaging, devices, beauty products, toys office furniture, or similar)
Experience in integrating insights and user stories, collaborating with your consumer science partner, during consumer research and innovation workshops.
Expert in 2D/3D design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Solidworks, Keyshot).
Strong in hand drawing/sketching, and storyboarding. Experience in web/app Ux/Ui is a plus.
Experience in identification of and collaboration with relevant partners in academia, startups, suppliers etc. is a plus
